- Adolph (Jim) Ambrosius
Adolph (Jim) Ambrosius, 81, 5245 E. Silver Lake Rd., Laona, died Friday morning at an Oconto hospital. The son of the late Theodore and Hattie (Bos) Ambrosius was born Nov. 22, 1905 in the Town of Lawrence. On May 12, 1930, he married the former Mary Van Susteren at St. Joseph Church, De Pere.
Mr. Ambrosius was founder and past owner of Adolph Ambrosius and Sons Lumber Company, Laona. After retirement, he worked at the Nicolet Golf Course, Laona, for ten years. Mr. Ambrosius was a member of St. Leonard Catholic Parish, Laona, and St. Joseph Catholic Parish, De Pere.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter and son-in-law, Jean Ann and Jerry Daul, Kaukauna; two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Ruth Ambrosius, and James and Shirley Ambrosius, all of Laona; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Louis (Marie) Ambrosius and Mrs. William (Marie) Ambrosius, both of De Pere; and one brother-in-law, Carl Van Ess, Green Bay.
He was preceded in death by eight brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call at Ryan Funeral Home, 305 N. 10th St., De Pere, after 4 p.m. Sunday. Prayer service 7 p.m. Sunday. Funeral 11 a.m. Monday at Old St. Joseph Church on St. Norbert College Campus with the Rev. Gilbert Jacobs officiating. Burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
