- Verstegen, Janet C., Little Chute
Age 79, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 9, 2003 at Century Oaks. She was born October 3, 1923 to the late Cornelius A. and Anne (Vanden Heuvel) Vandenberg. Janet married Norbert Verstegen in May of 1953 at St. Therese Catholic Church in Appleton and he preceded her in death in September of 1982. She was employed at the Verkuilen furniture store and Hannegraf Grocery Store for many years and belonged to St. John Church, Little Chute. Janet enjoyed visiting the casino, bowling and spending time with family and friends at the cottage on Loon Lake. Janet is survived by three sisters-in-law: Margaret Vandenberg, Frances Becker and Grace Verstegen. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norbert Verstegen; her parents; two sisters: Betty Rickert and Adele Abendroth-Manteuffel; three brothers: Jack (Mary ), Tony (Pat) and Paul Vandenberg; six brothers-in-law: Ed Rickert, Paul A bendroth, Walter Manteuffel, Paul Becker, James Verstegen and Lankey (Carol) Verstegen; a sister-in-law, Blanche (Norman) Wiedenhaupt.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 11, 2003, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute, with Reverend Msgr. James Vanden Hogen officiating. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Kaukauna. Friends may call at the Verkuilen Funeral Home from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p. m. Friday.
