- Kubat, Sigmund S.
Sigmund S. Kubat, age 84, of Little Chute, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2005, at St. Paul Villa, Kaukauna after a courageous battle with cancer and heart disease. He was born February 27, 1921, in Owatonna, Minnesota, son of the late Peter and Frances (Seykora) Kubat. Sigmund married Mary E. Spinler, April 13, 1942, at Sacred Heart Church, Owatonna and she preceded him in death April 6, 2003. He retired from Appleton Papers Locks Mill in March 1984 after working there 37 years.
He was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute, the Quarter Century Club and Catholic Foresters. Sigmund enjoyed fishing, playing cards, working in his garden, going on vacations and being outdoors.
Survivors include his four children: Bob (Barb) Kubat, Darboy Sister Shirley Ann Kubat of the Racine Dominicans, Racine Richard (Carla) Kubat, Little Chute Ron (Yvonne) Kubat, Vandenbroek ten grandchildren, two great-grandchildren two sisters: Mary Motz and Margaret (Paul) Rasmussen, both of Owatonna, MN two sisters-in-law: Evelyn Beers and Rose Manderfield and a brother-in-law, Gilbert Herget.
He was preceded in death by Mary, his wife of 60 years three brothers: Edward, Felix and George Kubat and a sister, Agnes Dusek.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2005, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church with Rev. Patrick Beno officiating. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 1 p.m. Wednesday until the time of the mass. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.
