    • Thomas James SpiceAge 71, died on Sunday, August 18, 2013 at Appleton Medical Center. He was born on April 14, 1942 in Appleton, son of the late Percy and Erna (VanDenElsen) Spice. Tom served his country with the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. Tom was a very loving father having raised his four children. He retired from Outlook Graphics in Neenah after 25 years. On August 28, 1999, he married the love of his life, Joan. They enjoyed golfing, traveling, camping, and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.He is survived by his wife Joan; four children: Diane Spice and special friend Shawn, Shawano; James (Samantha) Spice, Matoon; Renee (Thomas) Moeller, Greenville; John Spice, Appleton; two step-children: Tim Van Cuick, Larson; Brenda Van Cuick and special friend Rebecca Slye, Kenosha; ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild; siblings: Richard (Linda) Spice, Eagle River; Jackie Echtner, Navarino; Wendy Paiser, Shawano; James (Nancy) Spice, Marietta, GA; Tracy Spice, Eagle River; Dean (Romi) Spice, North Carolina; Pamela (John) Schoeneman, Scotts Bluff, NE; Shelly (Steve) Winter, Shawano; Lisa (Jim) Brauer, Shawano. He is further survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Shane Spice, a sister Diane Spice, and a brother-in-law Raymond Echtner.The memorial service for Thomas will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Hortonville. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at the Borchardt & Moder Funeral Home in Hortonville from 4-7 p.m. and on Thursday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.Tom was a generous man, who deeply enjoyed his family and friends. He always had a smile on his face and he will be remembered as an all around good guy.
