      Age 83, died Sunday, February 16, 2003 at Theda Clark Medical Center. He was born December 14, 1919 in Manitowoc, son of Jerome and Melda (Otto) Berendsen. Jerry married Jean Martin, June 27, 1941, in Neenah. He was employed by the Soo Line Railroad for over 40 years. He was a member of the United Transportation Union and the Rusty Rails Club. Mr. Berendsen was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Neenah and the church choir for many years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Jerry is survived by his wife, Jean his children: Nancy Le Boeuf and Larry (Geri) Berendsen, both of Neenah seven grandchildren: Tom, Steve, Theresa, Deanna, Michael, Amanda and Megan several great grandchildren: four brothers: Donald (Beverly) Berendsen, Neenah Fred (Beatrice) and Howard (Maysel) Berendsen, both of Ocala, Florida Jerome Jr. (Elaine) Berendsen, Aiken, South Carolina numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son-in-law, Bob Le Boeuf. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, February 19, 2003 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church with Reverend Nancy Krueger officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Neenah. Friends may call at the church from 4 p.m. Wednesday until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
