    • Haupt, Helen W. (Dercks) Appleton

      Age 90, passed away on February 12, 2003, at Appleton Medical Center. Helen was born in Little Chute on September 30, 1912, daughter of the late George and Mary (Rynders) Dercks. On September 16, 1940 Helen united in marriage to the Late Henry “Heine” A. Haupt in Little Chute Wisconsin. Heine and Helen were owners of Haupt’s Bar and Restaurant on College Avenue in Appleton, Wisconsin.

      Helen is survived by 10 nieces and nephews: Patricia (Howard) Shapiro, Joe (Betty) Robedeaux, Dennis Wildenberg, Gary (Lori) Wildenberg, Robert (Kathy) Haupt, Carol (John) Baker, Chris Haupt, Mary Kay (Doug) Gosse, Jeff (Pam) Dercks, Lisa (Rick) Kositzke, six great nieces and nephews: Scott (Alla) Shapiro, Nicole (Bill) Boyd, Sarah Shapiro, Danielle Robedeaux, Kelly Wildenberg, Amy Wildenberg; two sisters-in-law, Grace Dercks and Martha Haupt; special friends and neighbors: Joe, Mary, Carol, Lisa and Pam Witmer, Dr. Kurt (Gail) Heyrman, Matthew Bourassa, Joyce Casey, Bonnie Schefe and Judy Diressen.

      Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Henry; parents, George and Mary (Rynders) Dercks, ; a brother, John Dercks; a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Delphine (Dimps) Dercks; a sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Martin Wildenberg, four brothers-in-law, Roman, Bill, John “Hans,” and Joe Haupt; and a sister-in-law, Magdelene “Mag” Robedeaux.

      The liturgy will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2003 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 500 West Marquette Street, Appleton, with Fr. Mark Vander Steeg officiating. Friends will be received at the church from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Entombment to follow at Appleton Highland Memorial Park.

      The family extends a very special thank you to Fr. Mark Vander Steeg for his visits and support for Helen. Also, a very special thanks is extended to Mary Witmer for her loving care and friendship.

      Memorials in Helen’s name would be appreciated. Donations will be distributed to her favorite charities.
