Van Lyssel, David S.
David S. Van Lyssel, age 64, of Fremont, died unexpectedly on Sunday, April 12, 2009, at Theda Clark Regional Medical Center in Neenah. He was born on December 29, 1944, in Appleton, the son of the late Adrian and Inez (Ulrich) Van Lyssel. On May 8, 1965, David married Evelyn Cooney in Appleton. David was employed at Azco Hennes from 1963 to 1995 and was a member of the Local 8 Iron Workers Union.
David was also a member of Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in New London. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
David is survived by his wife, Evelyn; four daughters: Tina (Keith) Hulbert, Fremont; Cathy (Wayne) Marquardt, Fremont; Melissa (Scott) Flease, Fremont; and Amy (Jon) Bartel, Fremont; seven grandchildren: Mariah, Alex, Taylor, Wesley, Logan, Abigail and Evan; two brothers: Robert (Wendi), Fremont; and Martin (Jodie), Hortonville; four sisters: Janis (Donald) Timmers, Appleton; Judy (James) Cooney, Elgin, TX; Wendy (Walter) Sztuczko, Manawa; Debra (Dennis) Kleist, Fremont; two sisters-in-law: Delphine and Darlene; two aunts: Mildred and Lila; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
David was preceded in death by three brothers: James, Richard and his twin brother, Daniel.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in New London. Father David Lewis will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Fremont. Friends may call at the Lewin Funeral Home, Fremont, on Wednesday, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
