John A. Spierings
Route 4, Appleton
Age 54, died Saturday evening. He was born January 4, 1923 in Milbank, South Dakota. He had been employed as a two motor operator for the Appleton Papers Locks Division, Combined Locks. He lived in the Freedom and Kimberly area most of his life. He was a member of the American Legion Leo VanRooy Post No. 265, and the Quarter Century Club of the Appleton Papers.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Behling Spierings; five daughters; Karen, Elaine, Ann, and Eileen; all at home; and Mrs. Henry [Nancy] Kokke, River Falls; a son; Michael, Little Chute; a brother; Jim, Little Chute; six sisters; Mrs. Clement [Dorothy] Cooney, Mrs. Norbert [Marian] Vosters; Mrs. Norbert [Helen]LeNobel, and Mrs. Marge Kegel, all of Appleton; Mrs Tony [Betty] Hietpas, Little Chute; Mrs. James [Donna] Maldwin, Waukesha; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Angels Catholic Church, Darboy, with Rev. Stanley Kolbusz officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Jansen Fargo Funeral Home, Kimberly, after 3 p.m. Monday. There will be a prayer service on Monday. There will be a military service.
