    • Eugene G. Vander Loop, age 77, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Thedacare Regional Hospital (AMC) surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 29, 1939, son of the late Peter and Emma (Lucassen) Vander Loop.

      On April 15, 1961, Gene married Barbara (Mitchell) Vander Loop. He was an active member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church. He retired from Kimberly Mill in 2001 after 44 years of service. Gene enjoyed spending time with his family and attending his grandchildren's many activities.

      Gene is survived by his loving wife of 55 years: Barbara (Mitchell) Vander Loop;

      Two sons and one daughter: Mark (Sara), Stockbridge, and their children: Drew and Anna;

      Paul (Darlene), Little Chute, and their children: Maddi (John Hurley), Chad (Kailee Wahler), Kelly, and Sarah;

      Lori (Ken) Olson, De Pere, and their children: Katie, Dale, Craig

      Gene is further survived by three brothers and one sister: Bob Van Der Loop, Appleton; Bill Vander Loop and special friend, Dot Schmidt, Kaukauna; Ray (Sandy) Van Der Loop, Appleton; Bernice Ashauer, Mackville; brothers and sisters-in-law: Boniface (Elsie) Mitchell, Combined Locks; Marion Biesterveld, Kaukauna; Matt (Judy) Mitchell, Kaukauna; Dot Mitchell, Kaukauna; Larry (Linda) Mitchell, Appleton. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

      He was preceded in death by: his parents, Peter and Emma Vander Loop, his mother and father-in-law, Peter and Ella Mitchell; sisters-in-law: Jean Van Der Loop, Joyce Vander Loop, Edna Mitchell, Rita Mitchell, Kathy Mitchell; brothers-in-law: Gerald Ashauer, Leo Mitchell, Virg Biesterveld.

      Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 27, 2016, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, 323 S. Pine Street, Little Chute, with Fr. Ron Belitz officiating.
