      Raymond J. Schumacher

      Age 82, passed away Wednesday November 22, 2000 at Theda Clark Medical Center. Ray was born on November 7, 1918 in the Town of Vanden Broek, Wi., the son of the late John P. and Hattie (Williansen) Schumacher, and has resided in the Fox Valley all of his life. He was united in marriage to Marion Weyenberg on June 6, 1950 at St. Therese Catholic Church in Appleton, sharing 50 years together. Ray was employed by the Kimberly-Clark Corp. at the Kimberly Mill for 42 years. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the Army Air Corps 36 th Bombardment Squadron (H) 44 th Bombardment Group in France, Germany and England. Ray was member of St. Margaret Mary's Catholic Church of Neenah, a 47 year member of St. Therese Catholic Church of Appleton, and a member of the American Legion Post of Little Chute. Ray will be remembered as a man who loved to putter, a perfectionist who liked to work in his garden, and could give great whisker rubs.

      He will be deeply missed by his wife Marion Weyenberg Schumacher; two daughters and sons in-law; Ann and Paul Day, Waukesha and their children Megan and Allison; Susan and Paul Ruthven, Neenah, and their children Ben and Emily; seven brothers and sisters in-law; Harold and Germaine, Little Chute; Joseph and Mary, Appleton; Maurice and Florence, Appleton; Eugene and Eleanor, Little Chute; Marvin and Leona, Rhinelander; John R. and Katie, Appleton; James and Donna, Kimberly; two sisters and brothers in-law; Mildred and Robert Huss, Combined Locke; and Rita and Kenneth Hoffman, Appleton; a sister in-law, Therese Schumacher, Little Chute; three aunts; Agnes Huss, Little Chute; Viola Williamsen, Appleton; and Betty Williamsen, Appleton; also many nieces and nephews.

      In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by two brothers; Peter and Clarence. The mass of resurrection will be celebrated 11AM Saturday, November 25 th at St, Therese Catholic Church corner of Wisconson and Morrison Streets with Fr. Dan Gilsdorf and Fr. David Koch officiating. Miltary rites will follow. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call at the Brettschneider-Trettin-Lederer Funeral Chapel from 4-8 PM Friday and then directly at the church from 10 AM Saturday until the time of service. The parish prayer service will be at 7:30 PM Friday and the American Legion visitation at 7 PM Friday. Memorial fund has been established.
