      Leitermann, Jean F.

      Jean Leitermann, 83, Little Chute, passed away Sunday, December 6, 2009, at Parkside Care Center. Jean was born December 1, 1926, in Little Chute, daughter of Sylvester "Fuzzy" and Barbara "Bob" (Peeters) Vandenberg. She married Norbert John Leitermann December 27, 1945, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute. They spent 63 years in holy matrimony. Jean was a lifelong member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute, where she was involved in many activities throughout the years. The most important work of her life was the care and love she showed to all of her family. Jean was employed at Hanegraaf's Grocery and Hartjes Insurance, both in Little Chute. She enjoyed swimming, bowling, square dancing, line dancing, and playing cards with friends and family. Her fried oysters were a coveted candy treat around Christmas time.

      Jean is survived by her husband, Norbert; son, David (Mary) Leitermann, Appleton, and their children, Michael (Jayme) Leitermann and their daughter, Brianna; Peter (Tara) Leitermann and their daughters, Rose and Lydia; Kathryn (Josh) Verstegen and their children, Joshua and Hannah; Sarah Leitermann; son, Marc Leitermann, Little Chute; son, John (Linda) Leitermann, Springfield, IL, and their son, Joseph Leitermann; daughter, Jo (Gregg) Friedman, Boulder, CO; further survived by a brother, Roy (Sharee) Vandenberg, Little Chute; a sister, Marian Pickett, Bemidji, MN; a sister-in-law, Yvonne Vandenberg, Appleton; sisters-in-law: Rita Binversie, St. Nazianz; Marie Bahr and Helen Leitermann, both of Antigo; Martha Leitermann, Kimberly; a brother-in-law, Norman (Mary) Leitermann, Kimberly; other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

      Jean was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter-in-law, Patty Leitermann; a granddaughter, Anna Leitermann who died July 16, 2004; brothers: Robert and Mark Vandenberg; a brother-in-law, Robert Pickett.

      Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, December 10, 2009, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, 323 S. Pine Street, Little Chute, with Msgr. James Vanden Hogen officiating. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 2 p.m. Thursday until the time of the mass. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.

      Jean's family would like to thank the staff of Parkside Care Center for the care and support they have provided to Jean for the past 6 years.
