Vincent J. Ebben 1118 Harrison St., Kaukauna age 84, died peacefully on Saturday February 21, 1998 at home. He was born January 22, 1914 in the Town of Kaukauna, the son of the late Henry and Mary (Huven) Ebben. Vince married Mary Heindl on April 22, 1939. He installed and serviced furnaces, air conditioners and sheet metal for Haas Hardware Co. for many years. One of his many hobbies after retirement was wood carving and helping out his children and grandchildren. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and their Queen of Peace Choir. He had the honor of building many things for Holy Cross, which are still in use. He was also a member and past Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus Council 1033, past president of Holy Cross Holy Name Society, Chartered Member and Treasurer of Holy Cross Home School Association, Chartered Member of St. Paul Catholic Mens Choir, Wrightstown and Chartered Member of Holy Cross Holy Name Choir.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Heindl Ebben; a son and daughter in-law; Gerald and Jean Ebben, Kaukauna and their children; Brenda, Lisa and Steven Ebben; five daughters and three sons in-law; Delores 'Dee Dee' Ebben, Appleton; Lois and Dennis Wittman, Kaukauna and their children; Jeffrey and Jonathan Wittman; Carol Van Dera, Green Bay and her children; Corey (Jamie) and Heather Van Dera; Janice and Glen Winge, Freedom and their children; Nicole Buchanan, Benjamin (Michelle) Seefeldt and Amanda Winge; Mary Kay and Bill Lerche, Hilbert and their children; Jessica and Chad Lerche; four great grandchildren; Taylor and Tanner Van Dera; Dakota and Janessa Buchanan; two brothers and sisters in-law; Willard and Helen Ebben, Kaukauna; Henry and Rosie Ebben, Green Bay; five sisters and four brothers in-law; Mathilda and Peter Vanden Bosch, Kaukauna; Sister M. Janet Ebben, O.S.F. Springfield, IL; Genevieve Ebben, Appleton; Margaret and Raymond Heindl, Kaukauna; Dorothy Sylvester Wavrunek, Luxemburg; Ervin Deprez, Phoneix, Az.
He was preceded in death by a son, Donald Ebben; a brother, Richard Ebben; two sisters and a brother in-law; Frances Deprez and Clara (Walter) Roepcke.
The Mass of Resurrection will be 10AM Thursday, February 26, 1998 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna with Fr. Jack Mullarkey officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at the Fargo Funeral Home 400 W. Wisconsin Ave.
