Gordon Vande Hey N4050 Liberty Ln Freedom
Age 71, died at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, 1991. He was born October 18, 1919 in Wrightstown. He had farmed in Freedom prior to his retirement. Gordy was an avid deer hunter. He was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church and American Legion Post 258, Little Chute. He served in the Army during World War II.
Survivors include six daughters, Donna and Robert Weyers, Missoula, Montana; Audrey and James Temmer, Appleton; Janice and Robert Van Rossum, De Pere; Sharon and Carl Theunis, Kaukauna; Shirley and Tom Greiner, De Pere; Debbie and Lloyd Van Handel, Kaukauna; three sons, Peter and Joni Vande Hey, Kaukauna; Richard and Debbie Vande Hey, Kaukauna; Allen and Jean Vande Hey, De Pere; four brothers, Dave Vande Hey, Kimberly; Leonard Vande Hey, Little Chute; Ernest Vande Hey, Kaukauna; Amos Vande Hey, De Pere; two sisters, Mrs. Irene Verhagen, Little Chute; Mrs. Norbert [Lorraine] Weyenberg, Kaukauna; 31 grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes; a daughter, Darlene; three sisters, Delia, Margaret and Gertrude; four brothers, Pete, Clem, Fritz and Nick.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday from St. Nicholic Catholic Church, Freedom with the Rev. Dennis Ryan officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Verkuilen Funeral Home, Little Chute from 4 until 9 p.m. Thursday and visitation will be at the church after 9:30 a.m. Friday. There will be an American Legion service at 7 p.m. Thursday and a parish prayer service at 7 :30 p.m. Thursday. Military rites will be conducted following the 11 a.m. service Friday. A memorial fund is being established for St. Nicholas Catholic Church.
