- 3 Youths Die in Weekend Crashes
Fiery Crash in Outagamie Kills Little Chute High School Senior
Little Chute -- A Little Chute High School senior was killed and three persons were injured, one critically, in a fiery, two-car crash at the north village limits about 12:45 a.m. Sunday.
Michael A. Molle, 17, 1123 Garfield St., driver of one car died of massive external hemorrhaging as a result of a severed jugular vein, according to Outagamie County Coroner Bernard H. Kemps. The youth was dead on arrival at Appleton Memorial Hospital.

In the Little Chute crash, Gay Marie Spielbauer, 24, route 1, Appleton, driver of the second cra, is in critical condition today at Theda Clark Memorial Hospital, Neenah. She suffered a skull fracture, second and third degree burns to both legs, a compound fracture of the right leg, and sever lacerations to her face and arms.
A passenger in her car, Carl Schuh, 28, 314 S. Victoria St., Appleton, is in Kaukauna Community Hospital in satisfactory condition, with multiple lacerations.
Gary Graf, 18, route 1, Kaukauna, a passenger in Mollen's car, also is in satisfactory condition at Appleton Memorial Hospital, with a severed finger, face cuts and bruises, and a possible skull fracture.
Little Chute police said the Spielbauer car was southbound on Buchanan Street and was turning left onto Outagamie County Trunk OO when it was struck by the westbound Mollen auto. The crash occured in front of Graf's home.
Police and a witness to the accident got Miss Spielbauer out of her car just before it burst into flames. The Little chute Fire Department was summoned, but the car was destroyed by the blaze. Mollen's 1947 auto also was demolished. The autos wound up on oposite sides of the intersections following the crash.
Kemps said today he will confer with police and the district attorney's office about an inquest into the accident.
Mollen, the son of MR. and MRs. Emery Mollen, was the third traffic accident victim of the year in Outagamie County. At this time last year, seven persons had died on county roads.
Funeral arrangements are being handled through the Verkuilen Funeral Home.
