- Frances A. Portman, Kaukauna, age 91, passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2016. She was born on March 18, 1925 in Kaukauna to the late Ambrose and Katherine (Verkuilen) Grissman. On February 21, 1945 she married Joseph Portman in Springvale, Maine. Frances was a member of the Kaukauna V.F.W. Post 3319 Ladies Auxiliary. She also enjoyed crocheting, camping, fishing and trips to the casino.
Frances is survived by her children: Cindy Tepolt of Invernes, FL; Alan (Marilyn) Portman of Little Chute; Karen (Robert) VanDenHeuvel of Kaukauna; Mary (Jerry) Wittmann of Kimberly; Tom (Karen) Portman of Freedom; Joe (Karen) Portman of Little Chute; Robert Portman of De Pere; and David Portman of Kaukauna; grandchildren: Bob Tepolt, Carri (Jeff) Laszlo, Courtney (Clint) Marsh, Cassandra (Ed) Hall, Amy (Scott) Janssen, Aaron (Nicole) Portman, Brian (Cindy) VanDenHeuvel, Scott (Lisa) VanDenHeuvel, Cory VanDenHeuvel, Jeremy Wittman (special friend Tammy), Jason Wittman (special friend Casey), Joelle (Dale) Knauer, Jared Portman (special friend Kayla), Ryan (Michelle) Portman, Adam (fianceé Nicole) Portman, Miranda (fiancé Adam) Warnke, Megan Portman, Michelle (Mathew) Baxter, Christina Portman, Travis (Ashley) Mc Donough and Amanda Lauer; 36 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren with one on the way; as well as many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Joseph; their infant daughter, Debra; and son-in-law, Rod Tepolt. She is further preceded in death by her siblings and members of Joe's family.
