    Tom Resch, age 87 of Kimberly, passed on May 30, 2024 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. Tom was born August 18, 1936, son of the late Richard and Hazel (Peterson) Resch. He attended Kaukauna High School and spent a lifetime working at Thilmany Pulp and Paper in Kaukauna.

    He enjoyed spending time with his family and watching his grandsons play sports. He also enjoyed watching all Wisconsin sports teams on tv, the Packers, Badgers, Bucks and Brewers. He liked playing poker, which is something he did with a lot of family members over the years. He enjoyed travelling and his gambling trips with mom to Elcho, Wendover and Laughlin. He liked to go for pontoon rides and to enjoy the outdoors sitting on the deck and having a couple of old fashions.

    Especially we remember as kids, having family meals at dinner time and going to Kaukauna to watch dad play softball and hang out afterwards.

    Tom is survived by four children: Alan Resch, Dawn (Greg) Stein, Cindy (Todd) Schmidt, and Tim (Juli) Resch; eight grandchildren: Melissa (Josh) Chupp, Kaitlin Resch, Amanda Wydeven, Chloe Schmidt, Nicole Schmidt, Brandon Feistel, Michael Resch, and Matthew Resch; and three great-grandchildren: Darcie, Judah, and Scarlet. His brothers and sisters include Gary (Sandy) Resch, Ann DeGroot, Sandra (Ken) DeGoey, Jeanne (Wayne) Smith, and Donald (Adrienne) Resch.

    Tom was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Yvonne in 2020, siblings Richard (Janice) Resch, David Resch, Joan (John) Anholzer, Rose (Roger) Harke, Marilyn Resch, and her twin Carolyn Resch; a brother-in-law Gene DeGroot, and a sister-in-law Marge Resch. Several nephews have also passed already, and they include Michael, Steve, Rick, Gary Jr., and Jim.

    A prayer service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, June 7, at the Jansen Fargo Funeral Home, located at 204 E. Kimberly Avenue with Dcn. CF Dedman of Holy Spirit Parish officiating. Tom will be placed at rest at a later date in Holy Name Cemetery, Kimberly. Visitation will be held on Friday afternoon from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.
