  • Notes
    • Age 88, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 25, 2002 at the Appleton Medical Center. Nub was born May 1, 1914 in Kaukauna, son of the late Edward G. and Lucy (King) Driessen. On May 20, 1941, he married the former Ann Van Wymeren in Little Chute; she survives. Nub was a skilled pattern maker, and was employed over the years by Thilmany Pulp and Paper, Giddings and Lewis, and eventually retired from the Appleton Pattern Works. Nub was also an expert gardener, and many will remember his wonderful vegetable and flower gardens. Each year he created a beautiful flower-filled garden for all to admire and enjoy. He also enjoyed woodworking and was known for his good eye when it came to hunting for hickory nuts.

Survivors include his wife: Ann Driessen of Kaukauna; a daughter: Mary (Bob) Koch of Oshkosh; a son: Steve Driessen of Denver, Colorado; a son-in-law: Peter Peterson of Davenport, Iowa; five grandchildren: Stephanie, Rob, and Adam Koch and Stacey and Amy Peterson; two brothers: Robert (Marian) Driessen and Leo (Fran) Driessen both of Kaukauna; two sisters-in-law: Marion Driessen of Oshkosh and Pat (Donald) Siebers of Little Chute. Nub was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Janet Ann Peterson, sisters Lozelle (Jule) Schommer and Margaret (Tip) Reetz, and brothers Quintin (Helen) Driessen, Everett (Julia) Driessen, and Floyd Driessen.

The funeral liturgy for Nub will be held at 10 AM Saturday, September 28, 2002 at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer Street in Kaukauna with Fr. Jim Lucas officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 5 – 7 PM and again Saturday at the church after 8:30 AM.
