Gloudemans, Anthony M. "Tony" Anthony M. Gloudemans, Little Chute, age 85, loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, was received in the arms of the Lord and reunited once again with his wife on Wednesday, August 1, 2007, surrounded by his family at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Tony was born in Little Chute to the late Henry and Harriet "Hattie" (Vosters) Gloudemans on February 26, 1922. Tony's mother died when he was three years old. A few years later, Tony's father married Elizabeth (Molitor) Schumacher. Their combined families provided him with fourteen sisters and brothers. Tony was the last surviving child of this blended family. While attending St. John Schools, Tony helped out on the family farm. It was at a dance that Tony met the love of his life, Verna Van Hammond. Tony and Verna were married on June 22, 1944, at St. John Catholic Church in Little Chute. Together they were blessed with eighteen children, whom he loved dearly. Tony and Verna were married for 62 years before Verna died on July 4, 2006. Throughout his married life, Tony worked extremely hard to provide a wonderful home for his family. Early in his marriage, he continued to work on the family farm and helped out at the Little Chute Supply Company. Later on, he was employed as a Pulp Mill Supervisor at Thilmany Pulp and Paper Company in Kaukauna for 38 years before he retired in February 1984. He also worked very hard at home to help his wife with the daily work involved in raising such a large family. Each of his sons- and daughters-in-law was warmly welcomed into the family. Tony's love for children was very evident each time he interacted with one of his grandchildren or great-grandchildren. He was an excellent handyman. It has been said many times that if Tony couldn't fix something, it couldn't be fixed ... "Just put it by the road!" Tony was a devout Catholic and a member of St. John Nepomucene Parish. Praying was very important to Tony, and while raising his children, the rosary was part of their daily routine. On the afternoon before he died, Tony prayed the rosary at the hospital with his entire family.
Tony will be sadly missed by his 17 surviving children: Joseph Gloudemans, Little Chute; Dennis (Karen) Gloudemans, Hilbert; Bonnie (Dennis) Feldkamp, Kaukauna; Judy (Wayne) Baumgart, Seymour; Nancy (Greg) Janssen, Little Chute; Jan (Dan) Biselx, Kaukauna; Joni (Gerry) Janssen, Kathy (Jeff) Jansen, Colleen (Oscar) Schuler, Tim (Kelly) Gloudemans, Mike (Kay) Gloudemans, Karen (Steve) Frassetto, Jeff (Julie) Gloudemans, Mary (Bob) Hietpas, Mark (Katy) Gloudemans, Chris (Terry) Coenen, and Todd Gloudemans, all of Little Chute; 51 grandchildren: Brian (Steph) Gloudemans, Jason (Gina) Gloudemans, Carmen (Chad) Ashmann, Sara Feldkamp, Julie (Raj) Pradhan, Michael, Anne, and Rachel Feldkamp, Karen (Chad) Zirbel, Craig (Wendy) Baumgart, Amy (Tom) Gard, Eric Baumgart, Michelle (Troy) Wilson, Tammy (Michael) James, Kelly Janssen, Christine (Ken) Munson, Cathy (Marty) McGee, Mark Biselx, Scott (Amy) Janssen, Luke, Ben, Peter, and Emily Janssen, Lisa (Peter) Pendleton, Beth (Chad) Verboomen, Julie (David) Lamers, David Jansen, Lori (Duane) Dissen, Chad (Sarah) Schuler, Katy Schuler, Adam, Luke, James, Stacy Gloudemans, Jill and Tony Gloudemans, Mark, Sarah, Luke, and Laura Frassetto, Ben and Rob Gloudemans, Nicholas, Tony, Scott, and Amy Hietpas, Ryan, Alex, and Brynn Gloudemans, Zach and Ashley Coenen; three step-grandchildren: Lindsay (Michael) Goss, Kimberly (Justin) Musser, Sarah (Justin) Hackbarth; 34 great-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren. Jim Habelewitz, Fr. Dave Funk, Fr. Patrick Beno, and Msgr. Jim Vanden Hogen, for their spiritual support.
When we got the news
that you were sick
And doctors couldn't
make it go away
Our hearts were badly broken
On that warm summer day
We knew that one day
you would leave us
But it had been
just one short year
Since we sadly
bid Mom farewell
Hardly dry were our tears
Since that day,
you fought a noble fight
You were always very strong
You gave it everything you had
You did everything right;
nothing wrong
Dad, you were always
there for us
Now it was our turn
to do the same for you
We gladly gave you
comfort and care
There were lots of prayers,
hand holding, hugs,
and kisses too
God's plan for you
was not the same as ours
We had hoped
to have you longer
Of course, Mom
always wanted you near her
And her "pull" with the Lord
was much stronger
Dad, because
you always tried your best
You showed us the way to live
Once God's plan for you
was very clear,
you showed us how to die
What wonderful examples
for you to give
So farewell to you,
our loving Dad
Your place in Heaven is all set
Give Mom a big kiss
and hug for us
You're together again;
that's a sure bet
Dad, we've been very blessed
to call you "Our Father."
We love you so very much,
Your children

- Anthony Martin Gloudemans is my great grandpa. He died last year on August 1, 2007. He was 85 when he died. He went to St. John Nepomucene School. He was very sad when his wife died. they were married for a while. Then about a year after, he died too. We were very sad.
