Patricia Wittmann, age 83, of Hilbert, died on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at Century Ridge Assisted Living in Chilton. She was born July 8, 1941, daughter of the late Andrew & Catherine ( Giesen ) Gehl.

Pat was a lifelong resident of Hilbert and graduated from Hilbert High School. In 1961, she married another Hilbert resident, George Wittmann, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Hilbert; he preceded her in death on May 11, 2020.

During her working career, Pat devoted her time working at the Calumet Medical Center in Chilton. Later in her career, she became more adventurous and started working with Dr. Pilon, first in Brazil, and later in Tanzania helping improve the lives of people in under developed areas. As someone who sought uniqueness in life, it wasn’t uncommon to find Pat attending the EAA Fly In each summer

She was a lifelong member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Hilbert, and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan who proudly showcased her ownership in the team. She also appreciated baseball and followed the Milwaukee Brewers, the New York Yankees and the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers.

In her younger years, Pat enjoyed time outdoors camping and snowmobiling. As her life moved on, she looked forward to more reserved and quiet time at the cottage in Eagle River. Throughout her life, however, Pat loved time spent in the kitchen cooking for those she loved, especially when it came to home made desserts and chocolate.

She is survived by her sister: Andrea (Robert) Stephany; brothers-in-law: Joseph (Olivia) Wittmann, Robert (JoAnn) Wittmann, Arthur Wittmann; and sisters-in-law: Caryl Busse, Marilyn (Conrad) Knier & Kristine (Steven) Kratke. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband: George; her parents: Andrew & Catherine, her sister: Audre (Gordon); her brothers: James (Marjorie), Phillip (Sandra); George’s brothers: Thomas Wittmann, Dick Wittmann; a sister-in-law: Linda Wittmann; and a brother-in-law: Larry Busse.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 am on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at St. Mary Catholic Church (108 S. 6th St.) in Hilbert with Rev. Michael Betley officiating. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 am until 11:15 am on Wednesday, November 27, 2024. At the time of the service and following, there will be a link available above for those wishing to watch a live stream or archived recording of the service, watch a memorial video, or see pictures of the flowers and gifts given to the family.

Patricia’s family would like to extend a special ‘Thank You’ to the staff at Century Ridge for caring for her over the last four years and to the Calumet County Home Care and Hospice Agency for the care and attention that was shown to Pat.
