    Vivian A. (Koehnke) Plamann, age 91 formerly of Hortonville and Sun City, AZ, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on August 10, 2023, after a short illness with cancer. She was born in Appleton on October 26, 1931 to the late Ralph and Agnes (Ellenbecker) Koehnke. She was the oldest of 17 children. She graduated from Hortonville High School and after graduation she worked at Home Mutual Insurance Co. in Appleton. On October 4, 1952 Vivian married Melvin C. Plamann at First English Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on July 13, 2000. Together they raised five children.

    She was a gifted homemaker and enjoyed cooking, baking and canning for her family. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed going to rummage sales, playing Rummy, word searches and especially going to the casinos with family and friends.

    Vivian and Mel loved to travel and enjoyed their retirement in Sun City, AZ during the winter months and at the cottage on Chute Pond near Mountain, WI during the summer months. She was a long time member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Greenville.

    She will be sadly missed by her children: sons; Michael (Terrie) Plamann, Mark (Carol) Plamann, Gregory (Brenda) Plamann, all of Hortonville, Keith (Kathy) Plamann, of Virginia and daughter, Tracey (Clifton) Hughes, Appleton. Grandchildren; Michelle (Joe) Bruss, Amanda (Kyle) Wege, Bryan (Tracy) Plamann, Jessica (Mark) Jochman, Nicholas Plamann, Zachary (Megan) Plamann, Elizabeth (Jeremy) Nennig and Jacob (Jessie) Plamann, step grandchildren; Neil (Julie) Schimke, Aaron (special friend Amber) Schimke, Tim (Heidi) Barrington, Tammy (Steve) Harlow, Laurie Hughes, Julie (Kevin) Keyes, Sarah (Jay) Parmeter, Kelly (Brian) Schmall and Dawn (special friend Jeff) Hughes, 14 great grandchildren and 20 step great grandchildren. She is further survived by brothers; David (Carleen) Koehnke, Ralph (Betty) Koehnke, JR., Robert, Richard, Roger, Gary (special friend Patty) and Marvin (Cathy) Koehnke, sisters; Geri Schroeder, Marian Sepich and Linda Vonck, sister in law, Patricia Koehnke, brother in law, Jack Yogerst and many other nieces, nephews, family and friends.

    Vivian was preceded in death by her loving husband, Melvin, her parents, her father and mother in law, her brothers; Kenneth, Donald and LeRoy Koehnke, her sisters and brothers in law; Beatrice (Lloyd) Arnoldussen, Nancy (Roy) Mandel and Jeanette (Donald Houle) Yogerst, also brothers in law; Ronald Schroeder, John Sepich and Jim Vonck.

    Family and friends are welcome to visit on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church N1615 Meadowview Dr., Greenville, from 9:00am until the time of service at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers and other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund is being established.
