    • Baeten, Clayton Frederick

      Clayton Baeten, age 87, of Kaukauna, passed away on Friday, April 1, 2016 with his family by his side. He was born to the late John and Marie (Vander Heiden) Baeten on November 13, 1928. He married Catherine Miller on October 16, 1954 at St. Mary's Church in Brillion. Clayton worked at Thilmany Pulp and Paper for 42 years. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. Clayton was an active member of VFW Post 3319. In May, he went on the honor flight to Washington D.C.

      Clayton enjoyed gardening, wood working, and watching the Packers and Brewers. He loved to travel, often going on bus trips with his wife. He loved going for walks and often times stopped to chat with neighbors. Clayton loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were the sparkle in his eyes and brought him so much joy.

      Clayton is survived by his three children: Chuck (Lori) Baeten, Candee (Timm) Biesterveld, and Carrie (Maury) Hartzheim; seven grandchildren: Ryan and Nicole Baeten, Seth and Caitie Biesterveld, Claire (Adam) MacDonald, Austin and Adam Hartzheim; great grandchildren: Kaylee and Mayla MacDonald; his brother John Baeten; his sister Rita Martzahl; sisters-in-law: Helen Baeten, Carol Baeten, Shirley Baeten, Marion Hannagan, Gertrude Sadowski, and Doris Miller; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Clayton is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Catherine; brothers: Robert (Sally) Baeten, Marvin Baeten, Ed Baeten, and Jim Baeten; his sisters Leone (Robert) Merkel and Aggie (Lee) Ganzyk; brothers-in-law: Lawrence (Anna) Miller, Norbert (Gertrude) Miller, Vincent (Agnes) Miller, Philip (La Verne) Miller, Carl Miller, Simon Sadowski, Kosmas (Helen) Miller, and Robert Hannagan; his sisters-in-law: Caroline (Ray) Lang, Josephine (Bill) Schuh, Ottilia (Edward) Schuh, Marcella (Alex) Fischer, Sr. Cosmas Miller.

      Funeral services for Clayton will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL PARISH AT ST. MARY CHURCH, 119 West Seventh Street, Kaukauna with Fr. Jerry Pastors officiating. A time of visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service.
