  Mrs. Mary Van Handel (Mary Berghuis) 5140 North Ballard Rd., Appleton Age 77, passedaway unexpectedly Tuesday evening. She was born December 29, 1895 in Combined Locks. She and her husband farmed at Rt. 3 Appleton since 1919. She was a 50 year member of the St. Elizabeth Society of St. John CAtholic Church of Little Chtue, a charter member of the Holdiay Homemakers Club. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Norbert (Theresa) Techlin, Freedom, Mrs. Delmar (Rosemary) Schmeichel, Rt. 3, Appleton; four sons, Robert, Harold, Donald, and Richard B., all of Rt. 3, Appleton; four brothers, Martin and William Berghuis, both of Appleton, and Bernard and Leo, both of Little Chute; 28 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. Her husband Martin preceded her in death October 25, 1957. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. saturday at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Appleton, with Rev. Gerald Falk officiating. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Little Chute. Friends may call at the Verkuilen Fuenral Home, Little Chute after 3 p.m. Friday and there will be a St. Elizabeth Society rosary at 6:30 p.m. and the parish prayer service at 8:15 Friday evening.
