- GREEN BAY - Connie M. Zingler, 78, of Green Bay, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, January 27, 2018 surrounded by loving family. She was born on April 28, 1939 to the late Harry and Evelyn (Weyenberg) DeValk. Connie was a 1957 graduate of East High School. She was hired by Wisconsin Public Service after attending classes at NWTC. Connie then met the love of her life, Robert M. Zingler, and they were married at Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Green Bay on Jan. 13, 1973. Connie retired from Wisconsin Public Service in order to raise her wonderful children. Once her kids were both in school, Connie found temp work thru Manpower before being hired by the Brown County Court House to work in their Juvenile Records Dept. until her retirement in 1998.
Throughout her life, Connie enjoyed putting puzzles together, making ornaments and desserts, collecting items like porcelain dolls, music boxes and anything dealing with her beloved Packers. She also enjoyed going on gambling trips, watching Hallmark movies and reading Harlequin romance novels.
Connie was a loving and devoted wife, a caring and supportive mother and mother-in-law, and a wonderful grandmother who loved spoiling her grandkids with treats and toys. She also loved spoiling her granddog, Biscuit, by sharing French fries, pretzels and lemon meringue pie with him.
Survivors include her husband, Robert; children, Brad (Karen) Zingler; Patti (Chris) Tilkens; Shawn Kiser; grandchildren, Calleigh Kiser, Gabe Zingler and Adeline Zingler; sisters, Sharon (Glenn) Weycker; Linda Wood; brother-in-law, Ken Seering.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents; mother and father-in-law, Marlin (Helen) Zingler; brothers, Dean DeValk, Wayne (Judy) DeValk, Gary (Carol) DeValk; sisters, LaVonne (Dick) Rose; infant sister, Joemaine; brother-in-law, Mike Wood; sister-in-law, Mary Seering; nephew, Patrick Weycker; niece, Traci Wood.
Family and friends may call at the Pfotenhauer Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Howard-Suamico location, 1145 Cardinal Lane, on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 from 4 until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 1731 St. Agnes Drive, Green Bay, from 10 until 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service 11:00 a.m. at the church with Pastor Scott Malme officiating.
