      Margaret M. Mueller, 85, formerly of New Holstein, died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2001 at the Vila Loretto Nursing Home in Mt. Calvary, where she and her husband have been residing for the past four years.

      She was born June 9, 1915 in the Town of Stockbridge, daughter of the late Henry and Anna Steffes Thill.

      On June 28m 1939, she married E. John Mueller at St. Charles Catholic Church in Charlseburg.

      Margaret attended St. Mary's Parochial School in Stockbridge. She graduated from St. Mary Springs Academy in Fond du Lac in 1932 and the Outagamie Rural Normal College in 1934.

      Margaret taught at various rural schools for five years, worked at the People's State Bank in New Holstein, the M-B Company in New Holstein and drove for Senior Citizens in Calumet County for several years.

      She was a member of Holy Rosary Church in New Holstein, the Christian Women's Society, Daughters of Isabella and the Chilton Eagles Auxiliary.

      Survivors include her husband, E. John Mueller, of the Villa Loretto Nursing Home in Mt. Calvary; two sisters, B. Esther Ludwig, Chilton, Vivian Hertel Chilton. She was proceeded in death by her parents, three sisters, Felicia Kempen, Crescence Zahringer and Teresa Steiner.

      Funeral Mass was held Wednesday, Feb. 7 at Holy Rosary Church in New Holstein with the Rev. Frank Weber as officiant. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
