- Stockbridge John Joas, a county resident all his life, died Saturday at his home here. Death was attributed to a cerebral hemorrhage. He was 73 years old.
He was born Dec. 8, 1877, at Jericho, the son of George and Mary Joas, and moved to Stockbridge with his parents as a youth. He lived on the same farm all his life. He never married and made his home with his brother, Herman and his family.
He was a member of the Holy Name society of St. Marys parish.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Frank (Lena) Vierbacher, Shawano, and four brothers, William of Townsend, Frank of Birnamwood, Henry of Stockbridge town and Herman on the home farm.
Funeral services were held at St. Marys church, Stockbridge. Rev. Theo. Kersten officiated and burial was in the parish cemetery.
