- Mrs. Casey (Norma Jane) Kolb, of De Pere passed away quietly on Thursday morning October 23, 2014 following a short illness. The daughter of the late Joseph and Loretta (Ehnard) Schumerth was born March 15, 1923 in Green Bay. She attended De Pere High School and Mt. Mary College. She married Clayton "Casey " Kolb on June 14, 1947 at St. Francis Catholic Church in De Pere. The couple celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary.
Norma Jane volunteered at St. Francis Library, then went on to work in the library at St. Norbert College for 24 years, retiring in 1989. She and Casey were very active in the community. Norma Jane was past president of the Nazareth Guild, fundraising for the St. Joseph Orphanage. She belonged to various bridge clubs for over 50 years. Norma Jane was a Woman of incredible faith and was a life-long member of St. Francis Church in De Pere, where she belonged to Altar Rosary Society. She and Casey were members of the Norbertine Associates and they prayed the Rosary often. They had a love of international travel. She had a dynamic personality and enjoyed the friendships and wonderful relationships of many friends and family during her lifetime. Her love of family continues to be her legacy.
Her family includes her husband, Casey, five children, Greg (Maribeth) Kolb, Steve (Karen) Kolb, Rick (Eileen) Kolb, Beth (Rick) Theiler, Sarah Thompson (fiancé, Rick Pouwels), fourteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, two brothers, Robert Schumerth and James (Eva) Schumerth. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister-in-law.
Family and friends may call at St. Francis Catholic Church, 220 South Michigan Street, De Pere from 9:00 to 11:00 am Monday October 27, 2014. Mass of Christian Burial will be concelebrated at 11:00 am Monday at the church with Father Richard Getchel and Father Judah Pigon, MF, officiating, assisted by members of the Norbertine Community.
