      Age 47, died at 2:45 p.m. Monday, March 21, 1983, following an extended illness. He was born January 11, 1936, in Appleton.

      Survivors include a daughter, Michelle L., and three sons, Mark R., Michael R., and Jeff R.; his mother, Alma Grode Girard; his father, F.J. 'Jerry' Girard; and a brother, Richard C., all of Appleton; a sister, Kathleen Hoffmann, Suring.

      The will be no visitation at the Funeral home. Friends will be received at 828 W. Franklin St. from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday. The Robert J. Girard Memorial Fund is being established. Wichmann Funeral Home is assisting the family.
