    • Sister Mary Florian Baumann, 87, Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc, died Saturday, July 31, 2010, at the convent.

      She was born Jan. 19, 1923, in Mackville, Wis., daughter of the late John William and Odelia (Fries) Baumann. Sister Mary Florian earned a Bachelor of Arts from Holy Family College, Manitowoc. The former Adelle Rose Baumann entered the convent in 1941 and professed her vows in 1944. Sister Mary Florian served as an elementary teacher at St. Therese, Appleton, St. Wensel, Cleveland, St. Mary, Brillion, St. John Antigo, St. John the Baptist, Plymouth, St. Joseph & St. Boniface, Manitowoc, St. Mary, Clark Mills, St. Mary, Greenleaf, Wisconsin; St. Francis de Sales, Manistique, Catholic Central, Menominee, St Francis Xavier, Petoskey, Michigan. After retiring from teaching, she served as coordinator of Projects for the Poor and helper in the Craft Room at Holy Family Convent. Since 2006, she has preformed variety of tasks at the Motherhouse, Manitowoc.

      Survivors include the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity; one sister, Mary (Leonard) Tennie, Shiocton; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.

      Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 4, 2010, at the Holy Family Convent Chapel, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Samuel D. Jadin, O. Praem with burial to follow at Holy Family Convent Cemetery, Manitowoc.

      The family will greet relatives and friends at the Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 3, 2010, where a prayer service will be will be held at 7 p.m.

      The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
