    • Glen R. Beerntsen, age 84, of 2227 Russell Lane, Manitowoc, died on Sunday,
      March 6, 2011, at Walnut Grove.
      Glen was born on April 7, 1926, in Milwaukee, son of the late Joseph and
      Laura (Wagner) Beerntsen. He attended schools in Manitowoc and graduated
      from Lincoln High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
      On June 12, 1948, Glen married the former Iva A. Klug. He was employed for
      many years at Kelvinator until his retirement. Glen was a very handy man
      and enjoyed walking and traveling. He was a member of St. Paul Evangelical
      Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife: Iva A. Beerntsen, Manitowoc;
      one son; two daughters and one son-in-law; five grandchildren (private).
      Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded
      in death by his parents; one brother and sister-in-law: Richard (Ione)
      Beerntsen; one sister and brother-in-law: Olive (William) Schaus.
      Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 10, 2011, at St.
      Paul Evangelical Lutheran, 2601 S. 10th St., Manitowoc. The Rev. Brian Staude
      will officiate. Military graveside services will be accorded by the VFW Otto
      Oas Post No. 659 at Evergreen Cemetery.
      Relatives and friends may call at the church on Thursday from 9 a.m. until
      the time of services at 11 a.m.

      Glen's family would like to thank Home Care Hospice and the staff at Walnut
