    • New London - Thomas Calvin Hobbs passed away the morning of Friday, October 19, 2018, at Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah, WI. Tom was born in New London, WI on May 22, 1951.

      Tom is survived by his mother: Shirley A. (Bricco) Schoenrock; sons: Ryan Hobbs, Cory (Lacey) Hobbs and Tony (Lori) Hobbs; brothers: Mike Hobbs and James (Kathy) Hobbs; and sister Barb (Steve) Ravy; 7 grandchildren: Taylor, Logan, River, Paige, Ruby, Talen and Emberly. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

      Tom was preceded in death by his father, Calvin C. Hobbs and step father, Gerald Schoenrock.

      Tom was a 1969 graduate of New London High School where he excelled in athletics and was the Prom King in 1968. He was captain of the wresting team, a Jim Bodoh award winner, and placed second in the state wrestling tournament in Madison during his senior year. Tom was also was an All-Conference football player.

      Tom entered the 2nd Platoon of the Army National Guards and served at Fort Ord in California.

      Throughout his life Tom enjoyed spending time with family and friends, fishing, hunting, spending time outdoors and watching nature at his cabin "in the sticks" in "God's Country". He loved talking about football and wrestling with his sons and grandsons, taking Sunday drives (all days of the week), collecting and working on old tractors and trucks, and spending time with his dogs.

      Tom is currently soaring on the wings of eagles on his way to heaven.

      A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Tom's life will be held at the American Legion Hall (840 E North Water St.) in New London on Friday, October 26, 2018 from 4-7pm. Hors d'oeuvres and refreshments will be served.
