    • Green Bay - Mr. Gary Louis Davister, 76, one day shy of his 77th birthday, died peacefully at home Tuesday, March 10th, 2020 after a lengthy battle with AML. Born in Sugarbush, WI on March 11th, 1943 to late Louis and Dolores (LaCourt) Davister. Gary married Patricia (Nooyen) Davister, on September 13th, 1969. They celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in fall. Gary graduated from Luxemburg High School and Badger Business College before beginning work at BIS-Fru-Con Industrial Services for 45 years. After retirement, Gary was activity involved in the SCRIPT program at Holy Cross Church in Bay Settlement and was known throughout the parish as Mr. Script. Gary was a kind and gentle soul. He was very talented in many areas, especially flower arranging, cross-stitching and making beautiful prayer shawls.

      Gary is survived by his beloved wife, best friend and soulmate, Patricia and two daughters and son-law, Andrea (Davister) and Matt Jones and two grandchildren, Oliver & Fiona Jones of Fairfax, VA; and Alyssa Davister of Kaukauna, WI; and Sadie-girl, Grandpaw's little buddy; one sister, Karen (Davister) and Bernie Skaletski, Larry Davister, Dean and Connie Davister, Ken and Sue Davister; Brother-in-law Larry (Donna) Nooyen, Michael (Amy) Nooyen, sister-in-law Mary Ellen (John) Heiser, and Kay Nooyen and blessed with many nieces, nephews, godchildren; friends that are family, the Oktoberfest group, the Craanen & Herman families, Maryls & Dwight Dague, the Fisher family and the Bible Study Group (Scheriff's, Denissen's, Green's, & LaFrombois).

      He was preceded in death by two infant children Dennis and Angela Davister; his parents Louis and Delores (LaCourt) Davister; Mother and Father-in-Law, Lucille and Arthur Nooyen; brother and sister-in-law Robert and Shelby Davister; sister-in-law Judy Davister; brother-in-law Gerald Nooyen.

      Family and friends may visit Malcore (East) Funeral Home, 701 N. Baird St., on Monday, March 16, 2020, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., where there will be a Parish Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue on Tuesday at Holy Cross Church, 3009 Bay Settlement Road, from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at church, with with Abbot Gary Neville O.Praem, Fr. Mike Weber, and Brother Jacob Sircy concelebrating. Entombment in Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.

      The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Green Bay Oncology, the valet at St. Vincent's, the Holy Cross family that has continuously prayed for Gary during his illness and the staff of Unity Hospice for all the care and comfort given to Gary and his immediate family in his final days. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been created to honor Gary.
