  • Notes 
    • This is the ancestor of Philip Gloudemans from Boston USA. He left Holland to move to America on 3 March 1854 with his brother Petrus and Martinus to make a better living. Adrain's first employment was at the Old Park Hotel where he worked for 1 year. He was a mill wright by occupation and conducted a mill later in Appleton with Mr. Schmittl. After his marriage to Johanna, he bought and cleared a tract of wildreness into a state of cultivation. This land was bought for $1.25 per acre and ws located 2 miles North of Little Chute. After farming for 26 years, he increased his original purchase of 40 acres to365 acres of ecellenct farm land which he also cleared. On this farm, their 10 children were born. In 1883 he retired and located in Little Chute living in the brick home at the corner of Canal and VandenBrek Streets. Adrain's oldest son John took over the homestead farm. Adrain also owned the square stucco house on Canal Street and also much land in Little Chute. Johanna has 2 sisters in Green Bay. Adrain had 2 brothers. Peter in Little Chute and Martin in Milwaukee. Martin has a large family including 2 sons, rev Martin Gloudeman and rev. Robert Gloudeman, and a girl, a num named Sr. Anaceil. She is stationed at Mount Mary in Milwaukee.
