- Age 76, passed away at Anna John Nursing Home in Oneida on Friday, December 6, 2002. She was born in Kaukauna on October 17, 1926, the daughter of the late Albert and Josephine (Skenadore) Vanden Bloomer. She worked at a canning factory and various home health care patients.
Ceil is survived by her son, John (Judy) Mitchell; three grandchildren: Brian (Cathy), Dennis and Karen; a great grandson Justin; three sisters: Verna Diedrick, Josephine Fox, and Carol (Bob) Chosa; four brothers: Harvey and friend Karen, Ray (Bonita), Kirby (Margaret), Barney (Jackie), and Ed (Mary). Ceil is further survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Ceil was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Walter Mitchell, and second husband Sylvester Vanden Berg; three brothers: Herman, Elmer and Leo (October, 2002); two sisters-in-law and four brothers-in-law.
The funeral service for Lucille will be held at 7:00 PM on Monday, December 9, 2002 at the funeral home chapel with Deacon Donald Newhouse of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Freedom officiating. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Kaukauna. Friends may call on at the funeral home on Monday from 4 PM until the hour of the service.
God saw she was getting tired, and a cure was not to be, so he put his arms around her and whispered, Come with Me. With tearful eyes we watched her suffer and saw her fade away, and though we loved her dearly we could not make her stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands to rest, God broke our hearts to prove to us he only takes the best.
