| Photos | ![]() | Kathleen "Kay" Castelic - Thomson Oct 2, 1947 - May 3, 2024 Kathleen (Kay) Mary Castelic-Thomson passed away peacefully on Friday, May 3rd, 2024. Born in Green Bay on October 2nd, 1947 to Norman and Rose (Turriff) Bain. She attended St. Boniface Grade School and St. Joseph Academy High School. She was married in August of 1972 to Carl F. Castelic who unfortunately passed in November of 1975. She then married Thomas Thomson who was also a widower, they were blessed to enjoy 40 years of life together. As a young child, Kay thoroughly enjoyed growing up working on the farm with her family. She fondly spoke of her love of dairy farming and taking care of cattle. She loved her family time on the farm. Kay was active in Christian Mothers, 4-H and her children’s lives. She was a fabulous stay at home mother who did crafts, sewed and enjoyed cooking for her family. She loved throwing end of year school parties, birthday parties, making themed cakes, and caring for her furry grand dog-Porky. She never forgot the care and concern that she received from her friends & family on Spruce Street. Her family is proud of her resilience in the face of numerous life challenges. She will be remembered for her kindness, care and consideration. She enjoyed singing Christmas Eve mass with her sisters and then the children joined to as well as bringing joy Christmas Caroling. She was happy to build a home and live across the street from her childhood home & farm. She enjoyed journaling, making collages, coloring and making creative homemade gifts for her family. Kay is survived by her children Kim Thomson (Justin), Carl (Tricia) Castelic, Nancy McCaskey, Laura Guevara, Brian (Mary) Thomson and Eric (Beth) Thomson; grandchildren Kariya & her son Kai, Maya, Gavin, Addison, Katlyn, Brooklyn, Emily, Quinn, Jonah, Libby & Grace; her sisters Norma Vincent, Barb (John) Van Deurzen, and Mary Bain; many nieces, nephews and godchildren. Kay was preceded in death by her husbands Carl F. Castelic and Thomas H. Thomson, her parents Norman & Rose Bain; in laws Mike & Sylvia Castelic, Joe & Dorothy Thomson; brother Bernard Bain; brother-in-law Michael Castelic, Mike Vincent, Howie Nowak; nephew Mark Nowak. Friends may call at Ryan Funeral Home 305 N Tenth Street, De Pere beginning at 3:00PM Friday, May 10, 2024. A service for Kay will be held at 7:00PM with Deacon Mike Vander Bloomen officiating. |
