- Green Bay - Eugene J. Thyes, 69, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, November 3, 2018. He was born on October 30, 1949 in Green Bay to the late Henry and Ella (Horkman) Thyes, Jr. He attended Luxemburg Casco High School and graduated with the class of 1968. While attending high school, Eugene lettered in wrestling and football. On November 22, 1973 he married Roselyn Allen at Our Lady Queen of Peace in Sugarbush. Eugene grew up a farm boy and continued to farm until 1974. He worked at Nicolet Paper Co. and St. Vincent Hospital for many years. Eugene enjoyed the togetherness and holidays with the family. He was a dedicated, patient and loyal family man and made it a point to attend all family events. Eugene was a very quiet and reserved guy. He was always the happiest in the company of his family. Eugene loved teasing and joking with the grandkids. We are all going to miss him so much.
He is survived by his loving wife, Roselyn, Green Bay; his children, Kevin Thyes, Green Bay; Dawn (Kevin) Thyes, Antigo; Corey (Amber) Thyes, Woodbury, MN; Brenda Spencer, Green Bay; Andrew (Lynsy) Thyes, De Pere; his 2 grandchildren, Logan and Loren Spencer; brother-in-law, Clarence DuBois, Jr., and many other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, David Spencer; and his sister Rosemary DuBois.
Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Visitation will continue on Wednesday at the funeral home from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Funeral service 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home with Sr. Caroline Castellini officiating. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund will be established.
