- Genevieve C. Feldkamp, age 93, Kaukauna, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2004, at her home.
She was born December 26, 1910, to the late Martin and Hattie (Berghuis) Van Handel in the Town of Vandenbroek.
Genevieve married Norbert J. Feldkamp on June 1, 1932, at St. John's in Little Chute. Together they farmed in Kaukauna where they raised a family.
She was later employed at Kaukauna High School working in the lunch program. After her retirement, she enjoyed many winters in Florida with Norbert until his death on March 25, 1995. Throughout her life, Genevieve was admired for her vegetable garden and beautiful flowers. Her handmade comforters, quilts
and afghans were always a pleasure to receive and will continue to keep all of her family warm for years to come. Genevieve was a great cook and enjoyed baking for family and friends. She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting and made the most beautiful doilies, which she gave away to many people. Genevieve was an
avid bird watcher and found comfort in feeding them. She was a longtime member of St. Mary's Parish and was active with church, funeral and Altar Society functions until her illness.
She is survived by her two sons: James (Julane) Feldkamp of Roseville, MN; and Dennis (Bonnie) Feldkamp of Kaukauna; three daughters: Muriel (Wayne) Newhouse of Moose Lake, MN; Judy (George) Hoffmann of New Holstein; and Renee (Dave) Heim of Andover, MN; eighteen grandchildren and twenty-six
great-grandchildren. She will also be missed by two·sisters-in-law: Vera and Lucille Feldkamp, both of Kaukauna; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Norbert; three infant children; three sisters: Anna (Fred) Behling, Mary (Joe) Van Groll, Esther (Nick) Hietpas; and four brothers: Joe (Kate), George (Frances), Barney (Verna) and (Ruby), Norb (Zepora) Van Handel. She was also preceded in death by her
husband's sisters: Leona Feldkamp and Suzanne (Martin) Amoldussen; and four brothers: Anthony (Mary), Bernard, Leo and Hilary (Ethel) Feldkamp.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to her granddauther, SaraFeldkamp who made Genevieve's last days more comfortable. Sara, your care, compassion and kindness will never be forgotten.
We would also like to thank the staff at St. Paul Home, ThedaCare at Home Hospice, especially Paul Halbach and Ladies of St. Mary's Altar Society.
