    • Carol R. Herman, 92, Green Bay, died Tuesday morning Sept. 11, 2018, at her home. Born in Green Bay May 22, 1926, she is the daughter of the late Eli and Hazel (Rose) Vandenack. On Oct. 9, 1948, she married Bernard Herman at Saints Peter and Paul Church in Green Bay. The couple farmed in Bay Settlement for many years. Bernard preceded her in death on Oct. 15, 2007. She was a member of Holy Cross Church, Bay Settlement. Carol was a very loving and special wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, volunteering at Holy Cross Parish office and St. Vincent Hospital, singing in the choir and at Polka masses, and especially time spent with family and friends.

      Survivors include three children and their spouses, Sharon (Ron) Urquhart, Robert (Mary Jo) Herman all of New Franken, and Shirley (Dennis) Van Egeren, Green Bay; seven grandchildren, Scott, Eric (Lisa), Gregory (Ashley) Urquhart, Stacy Herman, Tanya (Justin) Mianecki, Jeffrey, Aaron (Amy) Van Egeren; nine great-grandchildren, Isabel and Gillian Jones, Brenna and Kieran Urquhart, Jordan, Kaden, Dakota, and Braydyn Mianecki, Austin Van Egeren; sister, Mary Ann Herman of Green Bay; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

      Carol was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bernard; two sisters, Laverne Vanden Hoven and Genevieve Van Lanen; brothers-in-law, William Bodart, Norman Vanden Hoven, Donald Van Lanen, and Joseph Herman.

      Visitation at Malcore (East) Funeral Home, 701 N. Baird Street, Sunday, Sept. 16, 2018, from 4-8pm. Rosary to be recited at 7pm Sunday at the funeral home. Visitation continues Mon. Sept. 17, 2018, at Holy Cross Church, 3009 Bay Settlement Road, from 9am until the time of the mass. Funeral mass 11am at the church with Father Tim Shillcox, O.Praem officiating. Entombment in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.

      The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Unity Hospice and Moraine Ridge, all the caring physicians and staff of the Bellin Health System, especially Dr. Biernat, and the many family and friends who took the time to inquire about Carol’s health.
