- Janice A. Gabrielson, age 75, of Appleton, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, April 29, 2013.
Janice was born on September 26, 1937, in Hilbert, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Gilbert and Mabel Bratz.
On February 7, 1959, Janice married the love of her life, John Gabrielson, a marriage that would span 54 years.
She proudly worked at Zwicker's knitting mill for over 25 years and enjoyed her work at Peabody Manor.
Janice loved many things; fishing, camping, playing cards and visiting with her friends. She enjoyed gardening and flowers. Janice also bravely fought and survived breast cancer. Above all, she loved her family and will always be remembered for her kind and loving heart.
She is survived by her husband, John Gabrielson; daughters, Sandra VerBruggen, Susan Gabrielson and Sarah Gabrielson; and son, Scott Gabrielson: all of Appleton. She is further survived by her grandchildren, Christopher, Nathaniel, Michael, Sara, Jonathan, Crystal, Carrie, Mercedes, Sayde, Andrew (Ashley) and Jessica (Justin); 16 great grandchildren; brother, Rodger (Liz) Bratz; sisters-in-law, Mary Burd and Irene (Elmer) Ellie; brothers-in-law, Orville Gabrielson, Russel Gabrielson and Richard (Barb) Gabrielson; and special friends, Stan and Darleen Christensen and Missy Verhagan. She will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Jay Gabrielson; grandson, Daniel Gabrielson; sister, Patricia (Bill) Meyer; and brothers-in-law Rodney Burd and Daniel Gabrielson.
The memorial service for Janice will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 6, 2013 at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME (537 N Superior St) with the Rev. Msgr. James Vanden Hogen officiating. A time of visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
The Gabrielson family would like to thank the Appleton Medical Center and Theda Care at Home for their love of their jobs and the care of their patients.
