- Oshkosh - Nettie M. Annis, age 86, of Oshkosh, passed away at Mercy Medical Center on April 18, 2018. She was born on April 19, 1931, daughter of the late Frank and Beatrice (Schooner) Miller. Nettie was united in marriage to Ivan "John" Annis on February 5, 1955, at the First Presbyterian Church in Neenah.
Nettie was a part of the first graduating class of the VNA in Neenah, and then spent 63 years as a nurse in various positions. She was very proud of her Native American heritage, and was a member of the Stockbridge-Munsee tribe. In her early years, Nettie enjoyed going dancing with John. She also enjoyed gambling on her lucky slot machines, but most importantly, spending time with her family.
Nettie is survived by her children: John (Peggy) Annis, Sheboygan; Kathryn (Rocco) Lewis, Omro; Michael (Barbara) Annis, Menasha; grandchildren: Nick (Tiffany) Annis, Tim (Vanessa) Annis, Alex Annis, Jordan Annis, Missy (Erik) Malnory, Ashley (K.J.) Flock, Kelly (John) Mirr, Christopher (Nicole) Annis, Brianne (Andy) Thorpe and David (Rachel) Osterling; 11 great grandchildren; siblings: Frank (Nancy), Don, Paul, Jerry and Violet Miller; sister-in-law, Pat Miller; special nieces: Mary Cone and Susan Eppinger; many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Nettie was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, John; parents, Frank and Beatrice; siblings: Frances Gast, Myrtle Wiegand, Alvira Burmeister, Waunita Weiss, Merrill Miller, David Miller, William Miller and Murray Miller.
Memorial services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at the Kessler Funeral Home, 304 S. Commercial Street, Neenah. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. For online condolences, please visit www.kesslerfh.com.
