Jansen, Marcella C. (Ploederl)
Marcella Jansen, 87, a resident of Oakridge Gardens Nursing Center, Menasha, died on Ash Wednesday, February 6, 2008. She was born August 6, 1920, to the late Louis and Barbara (Babbler) Ploederl in Antigo. Marcella married Stanley C. Jansen on October 13, 1943, at St. John's Church, Antigo, and he preceded her in death June 3, 1998. Mrs. Jansen lived in Little Chute and Kimberly, most recently Little Chute. She was a proud member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute, and sang in their choir. Marcella enjoyed raising her family and spending time with them. She was a very talented person, wonderful seamstress, excellent knitter and crotcheter. She made afghans, sweaters, numerous dishcloths, ceramics and many Christmas ornaments for her family.
Marcella is survived by a daughter, Mary (Steve) Colling; four sons: Jerry (Donna) Jansen, Ron (Dianna) Jansen, Jim (Vicki) Jansen, Randy (Deb) Jansen; grandchildren: Charlie (Julie) Gross, Amy (Ron) Young, Chad (Katie) Gross, Doty (Eric) Buker, Ben Colling, Craig (Tricia) Jansen, Scott (Amy) Jansen, Matt (Sarah) Jansen, Jessie Jansen, Barry (Mandy) Jansen, Nick Jansen, Travis (Cindy) Jansen, Mandy Jansen and special friend, Mike, Troy Jansen and fiance, Jes Kesler; great grandchildren: Caleb, Josh, Aime, Jake, Evan, Fiona, Rachel, Kayla, Jenna, Zack, Alanna, Halle, Deacon, Kayla, Annabelle, Payton, Aiden, Colton; brother, John (Mary) Ploederl; sister, Alice Ploederl; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Marion Ploederl; Beulah (Marty) Vanden Hogen, Eugene (Alice) Jansen, Mavis Jansen, Claire Jansen, Betty Jansen; many other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Barb (Chuck) Gross; brothers and sisters: Louis (Loretta) Ploederl, Harry Ploederl, Gladys (Joe) Novy, Theresa (Ted) Dzwoniarski, Joseph Ploederl; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Jean Ploederl; Melvin, Roland, Lloyd and David Jansen (Stan's brothers).
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 9, 2008 at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church with Fr. David Funk O.F.M. Cap. officiating. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Little Chute. Friends may call at the church from 9 a.m. Saturday until the time of the mass. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for St. John Catholic Church.
Marcella's family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Oakridge Gardens, especially her friend Jo Hendricks for mom's care.
Marcella, Stan, Barb and Chuck are all together now traveling and stopping for coffee and pie on their way to the flea market.
