      Vander Zanden, Rose M. Rose M. Vander Zanden, age 87, passed away Thursday morning, October 18, 2007, at Parkside Care Center. She was born September 15, 1920, to the late Henry and Rose (Le Mere) Rupiper, in Kaukauna, where she was a resident most of her life. Rose had been employed by Zwicker Knitting Mill, in Appleton, until illness forced her retirement, with multiple sclerosis, in 1968. In her younger years she was a seamstress and made many of her children's clothes. Rose loved visiting with family and friends, playing sheepshead and bingo. She instilled a good work ethic to her family and a strong catholic religion. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Combined Locks.

      Survivors include three daughters: Lucy Klister, and family, Kim Klister, LeRoy Klister and Brian (Cindy) Klister: Evelyn (Joe) Kersten and family, Paula Armstrong, Lisa Thiede, Scott Grady (fiancee, Chris), Heath (Missi) Kersten, Jonathan Kersten (fiancee, Jacquelyn), Teri Kersten: Joy Brittnacher and family, Lance (Charlie) Vander Zanden, Annette (Dennis) Eiting, Christy (Gary) Leick, Tom II (Chad) Brittnacher, Ted Brittnacher and Lynn Brittnacher; son, Clyde (Gail) Rupiper and children; several great grandchildren; a brother, John (Alice) Rupiper, sisters: Louise McMahon, Margaret Byers; brother-in-law, John Kamps; sister-in-law, Doris Rupiper.

      She was preceded in death by two son-in-laws: Marlyn Klister and Tom Brittnacher, brothers: Arnold, Joseph, Donald, Richard and Alvin, a sister, Marie Kamps, sisters-in-law: Virginia, Ceil, Elaine and Myrtle, brothers-in-law: John McMahon and Chet Neveau.

      Funeral services for Rose will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 23, 2007, at ST. PAUL CATHOLIC CHURCH, 410 East Wallace Street, Combined Locks, with Father Jim Lucas officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 9 a.m. Tuesday, until the time of the mass. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established.

      Rose's family would like to thank the staff of Parkside Care Center for the wonderful care they gave our mother and grandmother.
