Age 67, died Thursday, December 4, 1997 at home after a long illness. He was born June 12, 1930 in Kaukauna,; the son of the late Frank and Mary (Gussert) Vondracek. He served in the U.S. Army from January 11, 1952 to December 11, 1953. Bob worked at various positions at Giddings & Lewis from 1954 until 1988. He was the City Clerk of Kaukauna from 1988 to 1989 and served as alderman for the City of Kaukauna for 18 years. He was also employed at Astro Industries in Green Bay from 1989 to 1994. He was married to Helen Gerrits for 20 years; she preceded him in death in 1974. On April 19, 1976, he married Margaret "Babe" (Dawson) Vock. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, serving as a cantor, a mass server for funerals and communion distributor. He was a member of the Kaukauna Lions Club. He is survived by his wife, Babe; a daughter, Lu Ann (Jeffrey) Fandracek-Jeamby, Des Moines, Iowa; two sons: James (Dan) Vondracek, Columbus, Ohio; Tom Vondracek, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two stepdaughters: Sue (Robert) Main, Oshkosh; Peggy (Scott) Sampson, Milwaukee; three stepsons: Ronald (Monique) Vock, Sherman Oaks, California; Thomas Vock, Tucson, Arizona; Richard (Jean) Vock, Tucson, Arizona; six stepgrandchildren: Rob, Jill and Mara Main, Michelle and Kevin Vock, and Benjamin Sampson; a sister, Mary "Toots" (George) Brautigan, Kaukauna; many nieces and nephews; his first wife's sister, Carol (Lloyd) Bunnow, St. Louis, Missouri. He is further survived by his wife's two brothers and a sister: Robert (Dorothy) Dawson, Sterling, Illinois; James (Susan) Dawson, Decatur, Illinois; Betty (Donald) Brown, Durand, Illinois. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Francis (Rosie) and Harold Vondracek; and a sister, Helen (George) VandeVoort. The Mass of Resurrection will be held at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 9, 1997 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna, with Father Jack Mullarkey officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 309 Desnoyer St., Kaukauna, from 2:30 p.m. Tuesday until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name.
