    • George J. Hecker, 77, Ashwaubenon, died Thursday, August 2, 2012. He was born August 26, 1934, to the late Raymond and Helen (Kabacinski) Hecker in Green Bay. George served his country in the U. S. Navy from 1954 to 1958. On August 27, 1960, he married the former Elaine VanderKelen. They were married 51 years. He was employed by U. S. Paper for 35 years, retiring in 1997.

      Survivors include his wife, Elaine; three sons, Dennis (JoAnn) Hecker, Steven (Brenda) Hecker and Paul Hecker and special friend, Carrie, all of Green Bay; seven grandchildren, Lisa (Doug) Craanen, Heather Hecker (Steve Gandy), Michael, Matthew, Travis, Ryan and Amber; three great-grandchildren, Evan Hecker Gandy and Bryce and Bobby Craanen; three brothers, Donald (Sally) Hecker, Kenneth (Janet) Hecker and Michael (Mary) Hecker, all of Green Bay; and two sisters, Lorraine (Thomas) Snakenberg, New Orleans, Louisiana and Mildred (Milo) Georgia, Green Bay.

      He was preceded in death by his parents.

      Visitation will take place from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Monday, August 6, at Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Avenue, where the funeral service will take place at 8 :00 PM with the Rev. John Harper officiating with full military honors to follow. Burial will be at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in De Pere.
