David traveled to numerous World War II Veteran's reunions with his wife and sisters-in-law Connie and Betty. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, often picking them up from school when they got in trouble, and instead of making them do their school work, he took them to buy bait and let them go fishing. He enjoyed wood working, especially with his neighbor Dan Hedtke, on many home remodeling projects. He made many keep sakes for the grandchildren. David volunteered his time at the nursing home in Weyauwega and never hesitated to help someone in need. He was an extremely generous man. He was a member of Emanuel Ev.
