Amella Margaret Hietpas nee Van Heeswyk Seymour
Age 71, passed away at her home early Wednesday morning, January 6, 1999, after a courageous battle with cancer. Armella was born June 25, 1927, daughter of the late Peter and Harriet [Vander Velden] Van Heeswyk. She married William Hietpas on December 28, 1948 in New York. This past December they celebrated 50 years of marriage with a celebration mass and family gathering. Armella was raised in Kimberly. The family has lived in Seymour since 1963. Armella thoroughly enjoyed her job of 28 years being employed by friends, Niger and Joanie Johnson at Johnson's Restaurant, Seymour. She was a member of Legion Auxiliary post 106 for 23 years, serving as secretary for 10 years. She enjoyed many years of bowling and moring coffee klathes with many special friends.
Survivors include her husband, Bill; six children, Dave [Sue], Rockford, Illinois; Gary and fiance Connie Olson, Seymour; Gene [Jennie], Neenah; Bryan, Appleton; Beth [Marv] Smith, Seymour; Barb Hietpas, Appleton, and fiance Dave Ulman; seven grandchildren, Ryan, Laura and Kellen Hietpas, Rockford; Nicole and Rachelle, Neenah; Joe Smith, Seymour; Justin and Tom, Noel, Appleton; a step mother, Josephine Van Heeswyk, Little Chute; two brothers, Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Van Heeswyk, Plainfield; and Ronald Sturn, Buda, Texas; two sisters, Marian [Raymond] Hooyman, Appleton; and Marlene [Hank] Peerenboom, Kimberly; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Peter and Harriet Van Heeswyk; a sister, Geraldine Spreeman; a brother, Gerald Van Heeswyk; her father and mothers in-law, Martin and Estelle Hietpas and Sylvia Hietpas.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 9,1999, at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Seymour, with Father Frank Kerscher officiating. Friends may call at the Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, from 4-9 p.m. Friday with a Womens Auxiliary service at 6:30 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m.
