Died – At the residence of his father-in-law, Michael Connelly at Battle Creek, Nebraska, on Wednesday, Oct. 21st, William A. Forkin, of this city. The deceased has resided in this county since a child. He was the youngest son of John Forkin, Sr., and was born in Chilton Town, August 15, 1853. In 1879 he was married to Miss Annie Connelly by whom he had three children. About five years ago, ill health compelled him to give up farming and he moved to this city. During the years of his suffering every available means had been tried to restore him to health but in vain. Four weeks previous to his death, Mr. Connelly was here from Nebraska, and Mr. Forkin thought a change of climate would benefit him, so he accompanied him on his return home. Shortly after arriving at Battle Creek he was taken with a bad spell and his wife telegraphed to Michael Forkin, brother of the deceased, left for the bedside of his brother, but did not arrive until after death had taken him across the river. The remains were conveyed to this city, arriving here on Monday.
The funeral occurred from St. Augustine Church, Monday afternoon and the remains were followed to the grave by a large concourse of mourning relatives and friends.
Mr. Forkin was a man who was respected by all who knew him and his death will be deeply regretted. He leaves a wife and three children, father, mother, four brothers and three sister and other relatives to mourn his loss.
