Leick, Eldor J. "Gigi" Eldor J. Leick, Kaukauna, 92 , died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2007, with his loving family by his side. He was born Nov. 28, 1914, in Pierz, Minn., the son of the late Emil and Mary (Kobilka) Leick. On May 27, 1937, he married Hildegard Klemmer at St. Mary Catholic Church in Kaukauna.
Eldor served in the U.S. Navy C.B.M.U. He was the maintenance coordinator at Thilmany Pulp & Paper, retiring in 1980. Eldor was a member of the Thilmany Management Club and Quarter Century Club. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, and Kaukauna Electric VFW, Post 3319.
Gigi enjoyed golfing, fishing, bowling and watching the Packers with family and friends. His grandchildren/ great-grandchildren will cherish their wooden keepsakes that he loved making for them in his shop.
He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Hildegard Leick; his son, Roger (Mary Jane) Leick , Kaukauna; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Stephen (Jean) Leick, Kaukauna; and Stephanie and Amanda; Mary (Scott) Ladwig, Wrightstown; and Mary Allyssa; Robin (Robert) Fiala, Kaukauna; and Samantha and Robert; Craig (Crystal) Leick, Kaukauna; and Zander; brother, Nicholas Leick, Kaukauna; sisters, Marie Hartjes, Combined Locks; Delores Schuh, Kaukauna; Helen (Robert) Sachs, Kaukauna; and Elizabeth "Betty" Vander Wyst, Combined Locks.
Eldor is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three infant sons; brother, Elmer (Ann) Leick; sister, Florence (Julius) Hartjes; sister-in-law, Phoebe Leick; brothers-in-law, Edward Hartjes, Hilton Schuh and Roger Vander Wyst and a great-grandson.
The funeral liturgy for Eldor will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2007, at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer St., Kaukauna, with Father Jack Mullarkey officiating. Burial will take place at the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Church on Wednesday from 2:30 p.m. until the time of mass.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
