- Emily Mae Chosa, age 73, passed away at her home on October 12, 2012 following a lengthy illness. She was born on October 16, 1938 in Neenah to the late Albert and Rita Remme. She attended St. Mary School. Emily was very grateful for her 33 years of sobriety. She loved children and often became their advocate and champion when trouble arose for them. She was an accomplished self-taught musician and played professionally throughout her life. She was also a cook and a school bus driver. Her hobbies were many and varied including camping, auto repair, writing, carpentry, gardening, and reading. Survivors include Rose Wendt, her partner of over 30 years; her children Jerome (Lisa) Chosa Jr. of Menasha and JoAnn (Jerry) Rice of Bay Minette, Alabama; her grandsons Eric (Tracy) Chosa, Appleton, Michael Chosa, Menasha, and Derek (Kristi) Rice, Appleton; Three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; her sister Delores Winkleman of Neenah, her sister-in-law Mary (Jim) Bailey of Madison; and her brother-in-law William Wendt of Menasha. She was preceded in death by her infant daughter Mary Catherine Chosa; her sisters Lorraine and Nancy; her brothers Glenn, Daniel, Elwood and Leroy; and her ex-husband Jerome Chosa Sr.
Memorial services will be held on December 15, 2012 at 11am at FOX VALLEY UNITARIAN UNIVERSALIST FELLOWSHIP, 2600 E. Philip Lane, Appelton, with Rev. Roger Bertschausen officiating. Friends may call on December 15 from 10am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in her name.
