    • Robert “Bobby” Charles Leisgang, 67 of La Crosse, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at his home. He was born April 30, 1952 in La Crosse to Robert and Phyllis (Olson) Leisgang and graduated from Aquinas High School in 1970.

Bob joined the Army National Guard in 1971 and served for six years before being honorably discharged from service in 1977. On May 27, 1972 he married Peggy Blowers and they had two daughters. Bob and Peggy were married 20 years and later divorced. Bob started his career with Burlington Northern Railroad in 1973 as a brakeman and later retired as a conductor in 2000.

He had a great love for the river, including boating and fishing. Many great memories were made aboard his beloved Bayliner, “The Kris-Dana.” His children have many wonderful memories of boating trips, sand bars and waterskiing. Bob loved fishing and spent countless hours in his boat, fishing with his dad, brother, nephew, and grandchildren during his lifetime.
Bob took great pride in his home, yard, and landscaping. He spent many hours painting his deck, looking for just the right tree for the front yard and discussing his decorating ideas with anyone who would listen. He loved doing research online and finding just the right look. Bob especially appreciated the time spent with his sister in this regard. His most recent passion included the search for just the right corvette. He spent hours researching the best years, just the right color, the perfect engine that had the least amount of issues and whether or not a convertible would suit him. Sadly, he never was able to find just the right one.

Bob is survived by daughters: Krista (Cory) Wilson and Dana Leisgang; grandchildren: Tessa, Makenna and Brielle Wilson; siblings: Barbara (Michael) Stanek and Gregory (Sherri) Leisgang; nieces: Melissa (Steven) Copps. Gina (Brad) Hanzel, Lindsey (Nick) Hammes; nephew, Josh Leisgang, who was so supportive of his needs; and many other family and friends, including Jef (Nancy) Leisgang and Maynard Phillips.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Entombment in Mormon Coulee Memorial Park.
