- Rose Muskovich was born July 03, 1875 in Behle, Czarnikau, Prussia (was German, now part of Poland) the daughter of Christ Muskovich and his wife Magdalen Trinka. They had immigrated to Bella Plaine, Shawano County, Wisconsin in 1878 when Rose was age 3 years and were neighbors of the Kurz family there. Rose was the oldest of 6 children. She and her oldest brother were born in Europe and the rest of her siblings in Wisconsin.
Peter Joseph Kurz Jr. had left Wisconsin for Minnesota wilderness in the 1890s to help his brothers build a homestead. He then began his own homestead in Boxville Township, near Argyle, Minnesota and on February 2, 1900 he returned to Wisconsin briefly for his marriage to Rose Muskovich in Shawano, WI. The couple spent their marriage at the homestead. Rose was the mother of 6 children: Margaret Catherine Kurz, Anna Josephine Kurz, Francis Peter (Frank) Kurz, Clara Martha Kurz, Clarence Bernard Kurz and Alice Agatha Kurz.
John Kurz died in 1934 and Rose Muskovich Kurz continued, surrounded by her descendants, until her death at age 85 in 1960.
